Thought: Growth requires surrender to personal security

Have you ever considered that a conscious or even subconscious focus on personal security robs our leadership from growing to new levels. Our personal security tells us to look out for what is best for us, rather than allowing God’s purpose to be paramount and trusting He has our back. The truth is our human nature seeks out the comfortable and tries to dictate that we remain in environments of self-protection. I believe some of the reasons for this is we often carry the residue of past failure, memories of previous unexpected personal cost or simply the fact that we have grown used to remaining in control. What we need to do is continue to surrender our personal security to Him in order to see growth and change take place.
