Keeping things simple

The most genius things are usually the most simple things. The genius is in the fact that it is so complicated but so simple. When I design, I have to constantly remind myself to stay minimal because I have the tendency to make things complicated and hard and full and then they become overwhelming and I want to give up because I have created something where I lose myself in. It seems contradicting but it is hard to keep things simple. Design is not the only area where this applies, it just one area where I am more of an expert and I notice it more. Life is that way. I suppose certain wisdom lies in the uncomplicated and the plain and it takes an effort to remind myself of that.
