more about my new home

i remember there were about 5 or so months when i first arrived in the US when i thought that the country was almost perfect. soon, of course, that perception started falling apart...

i think i am going through that phase right now, especially since i went to the doc today and got meds but didn't have to pay a penny. i should say pence. of course i don't have insurance or anything of the sorts.

there is depth to a lot of things here. not something you notice at first glance. sometimes it takes a while to catch on. of course that you have to pay for the 'depth' and pay lots. but it's worth it.

one of the things i was looking forward to the most and it has paid in full is the food, and especially the coffee here. starbucks here is a very medium coffee company - the regular morning cup of coffee here is seriously out of this world (i have not tried in starbucks here, only in other biger coffee shops). here you order a 'white' coffee if you'd like it with milk. most of the coffee shops will have food. but not just the crossants and muffins - the sandwiches for the most part are fresh and delicious, like chicken-avocado, hummus-lime-pine nuts ... etc. fresh, healthy breads and salads and wraps and such are a part of the normal menu.

well, of course that at the same time the 'chips' which is french fries are part of the british menu. as for a traditional food, which i have heard shunned so much, i have to speak up and say that it's probably their roasts, which are very good. vegetables and potatoes and meats all roasted together - mmm. are you hungry yet?

there are a million things that go through my mind during the day that i want to write about but once i sit down and start writing, half of those things mysteriously dissapear...

anyway, i will leave it here for now and go cuddle with my husband while watching one of the 5 tv channels. (i was in horror at first and thought that i would die of boredom but they are actually pretty good)
