Being thankful

A long time ago, a few of my friends and I started a blog called "The Hope Experiment" with the idea of consciously recording the things we are thankful for in our lives. We haven't posted there in a while but I love the idea of it.

I don't remember the details of this fact but in the Old Testament, God instructed his people to thank him for even the small details in their lives. I remember this because Neil was listening to an audiobook where an unbeliever decided that for a year he will do exactly what the Bible instructs to do. I just remember listening to the part of him telling where he would wait for the lift and thank God for the lift and he would thank God for the door handle and so on.

What a beautiful way to connect to God in the everyday things and to stay positive! There are so many blessings that we live in, even when we are in the midst of the most horrible situations, there are still things that we can be thankful for. Sometimes we need to force ourselves to find the beauty and the good around us but once we do that, it changes something inside.

That is an excellent reminder. It's so true that we are changed when we approach life with an attitude of thankfulness. Thanks for this :)
