Friends

Michael and Felicia left yesterday morning. After the buzz of having guests, chatter, dinners, picture reviews of each day while having dessert, having such amazing friends over, now the house seems empty and quiet.

We had such a great time. During this trip I saw more than I have while we have lived here. Because Michael has lived in London 6 years ago, he knew all kinds of nooks and cranies that I didn't. Neil took some time off work and all four of us were having sushi (girls more so) and drinking pints in the afternoons (boys more so) and walking until our legs hurt. But like that would stop us! We had coffee stops and dessert stops and we even saw the London marathon and cheered the runners up and took a boat to Greenwich and did a million other things. It was so nice to have one of my closest friends over. Since we have been here for 6 months and are taking off soon, I never really made any friends apart from people at work. Which is fine but it was so good to have a girlfriend over.

Now the guests have left and I feel like another periodn in our lives is over and a new one is about to start. We are moving out of this apartment this weekend. For 2 weeks we are staying at Neil's parents. Then off to Canada for a week, come back and board the plane for Latvia so Neils mom and dad can see where I come from, they will fly back but Neil and I, with my dad, my cousin and her husband, my aunt and uncle, will set off to Norway to go camping for almost 2 weeks. After that, we are back and then off to Australia.

I'm so glad you had such a wonderful time with Felicia and Michael. Close friends like that are worth holding on to :)

It sounds like you'll have a lot of changes in the next month or so. I can't wait to hear the stories!

Ahhh... I was swamped with work yesterday, my first day being back, but all I could do is smile reminiscing on what I have just lived in the past five days... Wow, what an incredible, unforgettable, amazing trip that was!
